About me

Before obtaining my BA from Cameron University, I spent 20 years in customer service, negotiations, brand management. A friend and I started a blog that was called Rebels & Readers; that blog turned into event organizing for independent authors.

Rebels & Readers works one on one with independent authors, beta reading manuscripts, planning advertising and networking on social media. Rebels would host author events beginning in our tri-state area of Huntington, WV/Ashland, KY/Portsmouth, OH to Annapolis, Maryland. For these events, we handled all of the merchandising, advertising, marketing, planning, and coordination. The first year of our event in 2014, we raised more than $10,000 to be donated to the Jesse Stuart Foundation in Ashland, Kentucky. Each year, donations were increased across the board. I gained extensive experience in planning event over long distances, and locally.

In 2017, I left the organization to move across the country, focus on my degree field, and my family. I still beta read manuscripts for a few select authors.
